FREE ONLINE CITIZENSHIP CLASSES
The New York Historical Society offers free online citizenship classes for green card holders preparing for the naturalization interview. The online citizenship course prepares permanent residents for the civics test portion of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) naturalization interview.

Parent University
Parent University is a course registration and management system where NYC families can find free training on a wide range of topics. Parent University serves all families, from early childhood through adulthood, and seeks to educate and empower them as partners and advocates through free courses, resources, events, and activities.
District 79 Adult Education Program
The District 79 Adult Education program has space available for online daytime and evening enrollment in our English as a second language and Spanish HSE program.

Anyone who would like an in-person class will be waitlisted until we are able to return to our buildings.
ALL NYC residents who are 21 and older (no age limit) are welcome to enroll in our free program.

Take-Out Meals/ Community Meals
New York City is committed to making free meals available daily for all New Yorkers. While school buildings are closed, students and families can go to nearby school buildings for takeout meals. Additionally, any New Yorker can receive free meals available at locations across the city. Text “FOOD” to 877-877 to find a location near you or go to nyc.gov/getfood to view an interactive map of free food locations, including New York City schools and food pantries, across the city. There is no income limit to access New York City's food pantries or community kitchens for groceries and hot meals.
